I would say it depends on the type of hunt you plan to do.  Both animals can be spot and stalked which requires being in somewhat good shape.  I have also seen both hunted from a tree stand which requires little physical activity.  In general I would say Elk hunting more often than not requires you to be in better shape, for hiking the terrain and packing the animal out and bears are usually shot from a tree over bait.  If you have horses and pack horses Elk hunting can be fairly low on the physical side of things as well.

Hey Devin, don't ever stop asking questions. You just need to weed out the responses!

I can't answer your question, as I have never hunted elk or bear. I would guess elk hunting would require better shape considering terrain and hunting styles.

i agree. you should include more specifics in your questions. i have seen bear hunted spot and stalk in the mountains and it looks verry physical and i have also seen them shot from a patio in MN.

good luck with the threads tho, some people are dicks but there are alot of verry knowledgeable people and also i have made some verry good friends off of this site.
