My 250 Opti still isn't working right.  It started a few weeks ago.  The motor dropped from 5700 rpms to 4900 rps instantly.  I took it in and was told that there is water in the gas tank.  They drained the tank, added some isopropal, and changed the fuel filter.  It worked great for a few days then it started again.  Instead of taking it in, a buddy and I did the same thing.  This time it didn't work.
I checked my spark plugs and they don't look too bad.  What do you think?  The Old Man thinks they are shot.  I also found this piece at the bottom of my motor.  It's about the size of my middle finger, is rubbery, and inside has a ball that allows fluid to go one way and not the other.  What is it?

I'd bet it's a breather.  Should plug into a hole somewhere on your motor.

It looks like a plug to me too or some sort of grommet but I guess that would be a rather goofy grommet.

You change your spark plugs?  How about your fuel line or bulb?  Start with the simple things and go from there.  If there was water in the fuel that means it has to be getting in from somewhere.  Or you are very unlucky with getting two bad batches of gas from the station.  Or maybe a weak coil?

My coil went out last year and it acted doggy until it flat out went.  Then all I could do was idle.  Wouldn't handle a load.

Auggie, is that the only plug that looks like that?( it looks like there may be some aluminum deposits on your electrode)  If the plugs don't come that way, it is not a good sign.  I would do a compression test on each cylinder.

Every plug looked similar.  It's at the Dr's right now.  The black above the threading is spray paint.  They must put the plugs in, then paint the block.
