Pounding them where? They must not be common on Oahe. How big do they get? Tips to targeting them. Are they bony if filleted?

I will be on the MN side of the river. Know idea if there are any ND lakes with a good number in them. The tullibee get up to a couple pounds. The white fish can get up to like 10 pounds. I wouldn't suggest filleting them. Just cut the head off and smoke them. If you fillet them there are hair bones right above the ribs. Kinda like y bones in a pike.

Yes, smoked is the way to go with these fish.  They are very oily and are perfect for smoking.

I don't think there is a big population of them in the missouri river system anymore... a few around that I know of... used to be a ton of em in the tailrace
