This is interesting. Im not sure how old this test is but its fairly clear that these lines are quite under rated. I wish they would have tested lighter lines also. Like 2, 4, 6, and 8lb rated test. Im thinking about going down to 4lb from the 6lb fireline I am currently using. Anyone using 4lb line? This would be mainly used for lindy's and pitching jigs in 3 to 12 feet of water with spinning rigs.

I have used 4lb fire line for years for jigging and live bait rigging and the only thing to have ever broke it was snags and pike.  I can't remember ever having it break while fighting a freshwater fish (small tarpon, & crevalle jacks have snapped it many times)
There's no such thing as a "trash fish"
