Since I am headed to Iraq in couple of weeks I'm trying to clean out my freezer. I found some deer roast last night. Doe's anybody have some good sugestions on how to cook them. I was planning on throwing them in the crock pot with some veggies but wouldn't mind trying something else if anybody is willing to give up a recipe.

I joined the military not only to fight for my country but to fight for those that can't fight for themselves. Thats why I'm here.

Make it into jerky and have a trusted buddy mail it to you a small batch at a time as a surprise.  Nothing beats the little things when away from home.

Sorry, that's all I have other than the standard crock with veggies you are already looking to get away from.

I like to throw in a can of diced tomatoes with sweet onions, Hunts I believe.  The acid in the Tomato breaks down the meat and makes it very tender.  Sometimes I'll also add Cream of Onion, take your pick on the veggie in the cream soup.

My wife says, add lipton soup and just a small amount of water to cover the bottom of the crock pot. If you want creamy gravey, add a can of cream of mushroom or golden mushroom to that. Cook it on low all day. I will garentee that this will keep you safe in the sand, put hair on your chest and make you a Vikings fan! God Bless you my friend and Thanks!

Inject it with whatever (Butter Creole, Essy's) and wrap in foil and cook slowly on top rack of grill (250 degrees).  Put some type of rub on the outside.

Find the safe temp to serve.

Bake it in a bag with Lipton's Dry Onion soup mix with potatoes and carrots. Follow the roast recipe on the package. ( inside the package of oven bags there are a bunch of recipes) 200 degrees for 10-12 hours it is very, very good!!

No matter how you cook it, I always add a can of Campbell's beef broth.

Coke works the same as the tomatoes the acid in either one tenderizes the meat. The rub and the foil would work well too...grillmasters makes some really good rubs I've used a couple on pork loins and they've turned out excellent.

another thing I do with my leftovers (from a roast) is shred them up with BBQ sauce...I guess you could just crock pot a roast as usual let it cool, shred it then warm it up with BBQ sauce apply to stop-n-go bun (best buns in town) add chunk of colbyjack or pepperjack and enjoy.

Lol, I remember them well.  Have to agree, those Stop-N-Go buns are pretty darn good.

Without a doubt, coming out into nature is one of the neatest things there is to do, but you also have to be careful. That’s why I always try to pack the heat — try to pack a gun. Just a little bit — pack some heat. Now this isn’t too — this isn’t much of a big boy, I don’t want to kill the animal, but I do want to warn it, and say “hey, I think you’re pretty neat, but I respect your distance.” There’s bears out here, there’s mountain cougars, and biting goats.

Many good recipes and variations on here. One thing I do alot is throw them in the crock pot frozen. First thing in the morning on low with either Liptons onion soup mix and water, diced tomatoes and chilis, Rotelle, etc and they are very tender when you get home from work or hunting.
