I just got a phone call from the Code Red system in Valley City about the Sheyenne river coming up to between 16 and 17 feet.  (Moderate Flood Stage)  by Tuesday.  Lake Ashtabula got a warning for cabin owners to protect  boat docks and lifts as the lake is coming up fast.  Thanks.

I'm good up to 23 feet.  However the basement gets wet at about 11 feet.  So, needless to say I am currently testing topwater retrieves from my downstairs steps.  Good Times!!!  Thank you for asking though.  Here we go again!!!

This is a crazy year.  Just think even if Devils Lake had the perfect outlet, not one bit of water could have been released this year into the sheyenne due to flood stage water levels...

People of the sheyenne river basin need to pray that there are no major weather events in the Devils Lake basin like the microburst that opened up on carrington 2 years ago or the deluge that happened north of Rock Lake last year.  A hard down pour of 6 to 12 inches of rain anywhere in the main basin right now would bring about the catastrophy that has been talked about.  This would be the absolute worst time for this to happen.
I pray for the people of Valley CIty, well eveyone but Richard Betting, he can take a long walk on a short plank.

More heavy rains over Fargo tonight and extending to the SW, so far Valley City is staying dry.  Fargo recorded 1.37" of rain in the past hour with plenty more to fall.

Just shows that the People of Valley City and others that have stood up against a Devils Lake outlet need to pull their head out of the sand and  the people that have not taken the time to get properly informed and let the likes of Richard Betting run the Politcal game need to get involved now and start demanding that the State start bleeding Devils Lake down at the maximum rate that is painless to those downstream to a level that is safe.  Make no mistake, the Courts will not allow the State to store any water above the natural outlet elevation so don't even think about asking/demanding when your force to take your head out of the sand because your drowning in Devils Lake water.  ND's checkbook does not have enough money in it to buy the  flooded private property around Devils Lake to allow this to happen.
