It is nice to finally have to put on a sweatshirt to go outside. Today I finally got to turn on the forced air furnace instead of the central air. Hopefully it stays this way until April. Tailrace fishing, pheasants, deer and first ice walleye. It's my favorite time of year, I love to freeze my buns chasin' all I wrote here. Fall is the best. My grandfather was an Icelander. I am composed of five different nationalities: English, German, Swede, Norweigen and Icelandic. I think the Icelander is the dominant one. When you get a good ND winter you get to experience what -30 feels like in it's natural state. How many people live in places where they hardly, or never, see snow? Some people think it's hell when it's that cold. If my car starts, I think it's cool.

re: ?winter

posted by: Horsager. If we really end up with some snow it'll be interresting. The last time I recall legitimate snow in Sept was my 1 year of college @ UND in '95. Most of that winter was colder than a well-diggers arse in the Klondike!! It's the only winter I can recall experiencing raw temp of -42, I had to pull the battery out of my pickup and put it in my dorm room before my truck would start, that was a cold job without gloves so I could feel to manipulate the tools. We had a fair amount of snow that winter too.
