Maybe in MO.  We have jobs, $$, a growing economy.  Everything I hear about MO is that if you were to annex the 2 southernmost counties in IA the IQ of both states would increase by at least 10 points.

Could very well be true,I am not a native here  but that might be true.

I know of a few people that have moved to ND from here because of lack of jobs.

don't you usually receive money for a commodity? LOL.  But yea, don't get all of us started on the barge industry.  I use the term "industry" rather loosely here.

I guess you are right the 2 people I know working in the oil field from here, one is working in accounting the other inventory control for 2 large companies.  You might have it back wards, weak back but strong minds.  Both are very gratefull for the job oppertunities therefore have a good work ethic.

opinions on the oil workers runs the whole spectrum.  when I hear locals bad mouthing them it's usually from someone that is jealous of the money and doesn't have enough work ethic of their own to get a piece of the pie.

Eyexer, That was a pretty good assessment of the oilfield workers. People will have their own opinion of others, but I for one am glad to be working in the oilfield and even happier working close to home for the first time in five years. Jealousy is a sad thing.
