Can anybody tell me if this story is factual?  Curious if this is another one of those mountain lion photos.  The one where its the same picture only insert whatever location is nearest you kinda thing.  If that is ND that is awesome.

This is a darn interesting picture and story even if you aren't into fishing,
But please show it to anyone you know that likes to fish.

FYI:  This sturgeon is still alive, just worn out from the fight.
As the sports fishermen they are, they turned him loose after the photo.

This Sturgeon was caught in the Missouri River, North of Bismarck , North Dakota  two weeks ago.
It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs and measured out at 11'1".

It was 56" around the girth and took over 6 and a half hours, and 4 dozen beers, for the 4 guys taking turns at the reeling it in.

Any Sturgeon OVER about five feet has to be released unharmed and cannot be removed from the water.

They are brood / breeding stock and probably older than most of us.

I have been getting that e-mail the last couple years.  Sometimes it says it was taken on the Rainy River, Missouri River and somewhere in the state of Washington.  I believe the true story is from Washington.

Ok, I just got it, obviously, and thought it looked a lot like one of those photos.

Actually, I caught it in the Maple River first and released it.  I caught it with my favorite red and white daredevil.

If it was 2 weeks ago in the Big Mo then those guys wouldn't be able to hold onto the fish with their blue fingers.  Had to push off a sand bar last week,  that water is COLD.
