Photo Description:
The whole family decided we would go out and see if we could find some ducks this afternoon.  There wasn't alot to be found, but we did manage to get a few local mallards and some holdover teal.  Some how, all the feathers fell off when we shot'em????  Mange???  Must be!!!

My wife does a killer roast duck so it doesn't matter to us if they have feathers or not!!
Shortens the amount of time we need to pick'em.

Hard to beat a roasted plucked mallard...I usually wait til later in the season to pluck them though, less pin feathers and more fat it seems.

My wife waxes them so the pin feathers are not a problem.  I totally agree with the concept of waiting until later though.  Chalk it up to ravenous hunger for roast duck.  There's two that won't last the night.   Now where's that darn bacon............
