I was thinking about maybe going out tonight bow hunting. Will the deer move when the weather is like this. Just looking for your thoughts on hunting tonight around the Bismarck area.

Deer activity was probably the strongest yesterday because they know weather better than we do but I have had good success in this type of weather in the wooded river bottoms with spot and stalk. The rain takes away some noise and everything is nice and soft so you're not swishing in the grass and crunching leaves. Deer will move in this weather, I've seen it a bunch, but often times they will just bed down too. I haven't been able to see a definite pattern with deer in this weather.

In rain like this...early morning or late afternoon... find a good used trail to and from a food source. Slow stalk the trail about ten yards off to the side of it on the down wind side if possible. Move 50 yards at a time (very slowly) and stop for ten minutes at a time. Either you will come upon them, or they will come to you.  Absolutely no quick movements like "ducking down". They will grow wings, and the whole stalk is ruined.  Also works with falling snow.  Slow stalking in falling snow is my favorite!  Hopefully I will get to do a bit of it this season. Stizo :)

What we do in life echoes for eternity.   Shadows and dust.

I'd like to but it tears the country roads up way to much, not to mention section lines and prairie trails.
