Got a racoon problem

So for the past couple of weeks I've had a few coons coming into my backyard and snooping around. Normally it wouldn't bother me that much but it drives my dogs absolutely balistic. Its never fun to wake up at 3 in the morning to three dogs going ape *%^&. I'm wondering if there is anyone in the Minot area that would help me live trap them or at least has a couple of live traps I could borrow to get rid of these nuisances. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I joined the military not only to fight for my country but to fight for those that can't fight for themselves. Thats why I'm here.

Call Tom Kean, he is a trapper from Minot and may be able to help you out.  Not sure if he would have live traps but I believe he has coon specific traps that would do the job for you.

Buy a flashlight, let the dogs loose and grab your .22. Difficult solution?

I don't think the neighbors would appreciate me pluggin away with my .22 at 3 in the morning. Already thought about that solution.

Get one of those suppressed air rifles, they show them shooting hogs and coyote's on the tv commercials for them.  Just a thought.

This in town or country?

If out of town, screw the neighbors, or better yet, use subsonic loads, they are quiet.

And deer.  Heh, heh.  Just poking fun when you and I were talking about .223 for deer hunting.  I'm still tired.  Heading to BWW soon to officially start the weekend...

take a  bit of hamburger and crush up 5 tylonol and put it in the meat, make a ball out of it and set it where the coon comes. DO NOT LET YOUR DOG EAT IT!! should put the little guy right to sleep, but he won't wake up.

Take a look at this link ,
Take a can of Jack Mackel open it up let sit in the sun for an hour or two, then mash the meat into the juice. Us this inside the coon cuff, will not bother dog but you might catch a cat. I have used then isde builds.

I picked up a 3 pack of live animal traps last summer at TSC; put a small bowl of cat food in there and you will remove them from your area. The 3 pack is a large medium and a small trap; nice assortment for coon, skunk, rabbit and squirrel.

Last summer I removed quite a few coon and one nasty smelling skunk - my bedliner still stinks !!!

Be on careful watch with ur dogs as coon urine causes 'leptospirosis'...........can transfer from coon urine to dog & from dog to other dogs with the infected urine.

Marshmellows would also be a good choice in the live traps.
