Ford F150 Question (door lock)

I  have a 2000 Ford F150.  The drivers side door lock does not want to go all the way up or down (Power Lock).  I can hear it clicking, but it does not engage either way.  What might the problem be?  Any cost guesses or knowledge on what it might cost?

Thanks,

Rob

I had the same thing happen with a 2001 F-150 I used to own. There is a plastic connector that holds the lock linkage together. I would take door panel off and check it out.

I have had this happen on alot of my older vehicles and every time I have had to replace the lock actuator. It will take care of your problem. Hope this helps.

pull door panel and either lube moving parts and contact points or replace actuator.  about 30 bucks.
