Electric Fillet Knife Case

Sounds like a job for a packing tube barely wide enough for the motor with slotted foam insert the length of the blades and just enough room to pack cord in behind the motor. A perforated cap to hold cord in yet let things breath to avoid grossout vapors.

Yep, those factory cases are about enough to really piss a person off. Both my Angler and Rapala electrics fit in the lower door compartment of my truck doors. So my electric rides generally can be found there in my passenger door, granted the blades are off and riding under the knife body.

Other than that, Guy's idea seems pretty good for in the boat.

I have the rapala. Wow is that case ridiculous! Its almost as bad as getting a tent back in the bag it came in...only worse cuz after swearing at it, breaking out in sweat, and embarrassing yourself you still cant get the knife back in the case!

The problem isn't storing the knife, it's storing the 20 ft of power cord. I've been using a plastic 6x18 or so plastic storage box with a locking lid from walmart for a few years now and it works great.  When I'm done clearning fish I just wipe the motor off with a towel (or not) and throw it all in, never had a problem with it getting stinky. You do have to take the blades out of the knife however. 

Put blades inside tubing, or a chunk of garder hose, as long as the blades.  Put cord in first then slide whole knife blades first into 6in. pvc tube about 2 ft long, drill a few holes in the caps and only glue the end away from the motor.  A handle can be mounted via rivots or small bolts.
