White bass don't produce walleye fillets by any means, but don't let anyone tell you that they aren't worth keeping.  The trick is to get rid of the red line that runs down the back of the fillet, as that's the piece that makes the fishy taste.  I believe it's the lateral line, and is very easy to remove.  Fillet them like a walleye and the flip the fillet over and remove the red meat.  You may wind up with some dirty looks at the cleaning station, but I can't stand those with the 'holier than thou" attitude when it comes to fishing.  A good meal is a good meal in my book...Tight lines!
