I agree, Simms.  I think Condoleesa Rice is a great pick for someone level-headed and knowledgeable.  I don't think she would like to give up the good life back at Stanford University; going home every night and relaxing at the fireplace, or playing her grand piano.

Pretty conservative and level headed with her politics, a good knowlege and experience of world affairs.
My nephew flew her around the world a lot on Air Force Two.  Said of all the dignitaries he flew, she was the absolute best, nicest, and most respected by everyone.   The Aircrews almost fought over who would fly her, and I got the impression that the aircrews, like the Secret Service with the POTUS, would gladly 'take a bullet equivalent' for her.  Said she was highly respected by everyone from the gas pump jockeys in foreign lands to the big shots.
Wonder who she would best  with as a vice pres?

Says a lot that the folks who, whether they like it or not, have to be around her, actually enjoy the job/company.  Thanks for the insight bobkat.

Oh, you are just the worst kind of person...

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." -Edmund Burke

"The time at which I stand before you is full of interest. The eyes of all nations are fixed on our Republic. The event of the existing crisis will be decisive in the opinion of mankind of the practicability of our federal system of government. Great is the stake placed in our hands; great is the responsibility which must rest upon the people of the United States. Let us realize the importance of the attitude in which we stand before the world. Let us exercise forbearance and firmness. Let us extricate our country from the dangers which surround it and learn wisdom from the lessons they inculcate."

-Andrew Jackson, 2nd Inaugural address, 1833

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?
