My friend Carr shot this monster bull at about 12:30 - 1:00 PM on the very last day of the 6 day hunt.  They had him running his cows, bedding them down and bulging well over 30 times.  Once he bedded his cows down he came up the ridge over 1.5 miles, he came in for a fight.  He sat and thrashed the alders for about 45 minutes before walking in to meet his opponent.  Congradulations Carr!  Awesome bull elk!

It has so much mass that Carr was having a hard time posing for photos.  EVERYBODY was taking pictures.  Especially the other guides and outfitters!  That will probably be the biggest bull of the season for much, if not all of Idaho and Montana for the entire year.  Going to be hard to top that bull in 2011.  My cousins Rick (66)  and his son Jason (39) have taken 3 larger bulls than this out of the Selway. They have been running this business since 1969.  Jason wants me to recruit clients from North Dakota for next fall.  If you are interested, give me a call at (701) 833-3595.  Slots are limited and they tend to fill up if you wait until Spring.

Great bull! Love the mass. Did he get it with a rifle or bow? What does it score?

Possibly 400 before deductions.  Probably more like 380.
