Photo Description:
My daughter, Lexie, bringing in her largest pike yet on a small ice fishing rod. She was pretty excited. I have video I will post eventually, this is just a screen capture from the movie.

Yeah, she just about crapped her pants I think. This was the first time she actually saw the fish, after fighting it for several minutes.

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?

not putting it down but isn`t there a rule that the hole can only be so big to ice fish with a rod and reel?

The foam is nice but it will slide on the ice, helps if you put some sand under the blocks. It doesnt freeze to the ice like carpet will and also insulates.

We wanted to try spearing, but couldnt see into the water more than a few feet so gave up and just fished in the jumbo hole. Was back out there yesterday and the hole is still wide open so be careful driving/walking where people have been spearing. The snow we got yesterday afternoon blew the surface over but it wont freeze well for a long time with the temps we have been getting.

Congrats on the fish!

I hope you have that hole marked in some way to give people a heads up. That could be the cause of a very bad day.
