If so, how does it work and what should someone look out for?

I've been moving snow with my ATV for 2 years now.  I have the quick release plow (a must IMO) on my Honda.  The only thing that I have to be careful doing is catching the edge of the grass when pushing snow off the drive way.

It can also be difficult to get right down to the pavement is you go to fast.  I typically move the snow and do a final once over with a shovel.

My intention was to follow-up with either a broom, shovel, or small single stage blower as needed.  The guy who sold it to me said I'd be much happier with the whole operation if I ran the plow on the pads and not the wear bar.  I also purchased the quick release blade that attaches under mid-frame.

Have used one for several years.  Like previous poster mentioned, does not do a great job getting to pavement.  They do move a lot of snow though.  If you sheer a in on the pad, replace before using again.  Hurts like he** when blade is on ground and you hit a crack that has raised up!!!

I actually sell blades for four wheelers they are Blackline plows that actually have 650 lbs of down pressure. They work on electric over hydraulic vs. a wench. They work very well on cleaning concrete.

I run a 52" blade on my ATV and have only used it one season, but it sure saved my butt! We have a mostly gravel, long driveway and I just have to be careful as not to get too deep to start moving the gravel around. On my cement apron, it does a pretty good job of getting all the snow off, but I usually just finish that off with a shovel for the spots that didn't pick it up. And like previously stated, watch out for lifted cracks or the edges of grass! Mine has the safety springs, but it still jars me pretty good if I come to a halt.

For my long driveway I run the blade at an angle, especially in deep snow, and just keep moving it farther to one side, then turn the blade straight and move what's left. Seems to be alot easier on the equipment and works pretty slick on getting all the snow moved. I also recommend pushing the snow as far off the driveway as you can, This will give you more room to push snow when more comes, and as you know a pile of moved snow can turn rock hard in a hurry, and you won't be moving it with a 4 wheeler blade.
The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. Then why do I hunt? I hunt for the same reason my well-fed cat hunts...because I must, because it is in the blood, because I am the decendent of a thousand generations of hunters. I hunt because I am a hunter.- Finn Aagard

I have been using a plow mounted on my ATV for the last 3 years, beats standing behind a blower or a shovel. As far as getting it down to the pavement on mine there is an adjustment for the pitch of the blade that you can play with to get the desired results. I usually go with the pads down just so the cutting edge is just touching the surface and go slow. If I want it cleaned up down to the pavement I raise the pads and do a final once over and let the sun do the rest.

In a normal winter I go through 1 cutting edge per season, thats flipping it once or twice during the winter. Last year I went through 2 cutting edges, I plow about 1/4 mile of gravel and 2 asphalt/concrete drive ways. Also works great to plow out a spot for the fish house.

Have fun

I have a Honda 350 (87) and it does good but I have 160 lbs on the back rack and 80 lbs on the front then it is good . It works good to pile up the snow but when the wind blows then it gets to be a lot of work, and the piles get hard.  Even with the extra weight the 4 wheeler gets thrown around.

Clay, they work great ,I use a winch, but thats me,the winch also comes in handy for sticky situations hunting or fishing.I suggest you consider the 60" blade, otherwise the smaller blade barley covers your tracks.

Go slow,  push it as far as you can the first time because of our great winds.  I always try to push  to the south.  Mine will clean it up great as long as it has not been driven on already.

I'd concur with snow on the blade size, I have a 60" and it covers the tracks and moves snow faster.  Best advice is go slow the 1st few passes and you will get a feel for the plow and the surface.  I love my set up, and have been known to help the neighbors out when the weather is nice...it can be fun buzzing around.

Clay, you lazya$$!  You live in town and not even on a corner lot!  If your snow removal is anything like your lawncare you may as well just wait until spring and let the snow melt?  (grin).  Why stop at a 4-wheeler?  Get a skidder, that way you can have a heated cab!

Funny stuff Luv!  Can't you picture him cruising down the boat ramp at GI on a hoveround?  We could put a little tray on the front and he could clean fish on it too?
